Amla, Shikakai & Reetha Raw Materials for Hair-Care Manufacturing

A procurement guide to buying amla, shikakai and reetha powders in bulk for herbal shampoo, hair-pack and hair-wash manufacturing — ratios, specs and sourcing tips.

Why these three are bought together

Amla, shikakai and reetha form the traditional base of many herbal hair-wash and hair-pack formulations. Because manufacturers use them in fixed ratios, buying all three from one sourcing partner keeps lot timing aligned and simplifies freight.

What to specify for each powder

For shikakai, confirm whether the powder is made from pods alone or pods with stem, as this affects colour and foaming. For reetha, ask whether seeds are removed before milling. For amla, state your colour preference — lighter powders are often preferred for visible hair packs.

Manufacturers with their own milling may prefer dried amla instead of powder and grind to their own mesh.

Planning monthly quantities

Work back from your production plan: units per month multiplied by grams of each powder per unit, plus a buffer for trial batches. Sharing this monthly figure in your enquiry lets us quote slab pricing rather than one-off rates.
